{ have a good weekend}
this weekend i have to do a little birthday shopping for the kiddo.....we don't have cable at home. so i try and buy the kids something cool to watch now and then. like the red balloon or maurice sendak.... in the night kitchen!
really want to find a dvd of simon and the land of chalk drawings...or maybe the little price and
the cave of the yellow dog ? hope you have a good weekend!

my tan from the days of summer- almost gone.....on the first day of fall i walked to work & saw a bunch of girls in like tights + boots. here i was in a pink skirt & heels.
{it was 100 degrees}
a wedding last week at the firehouse in old sacramento.....the bride was BEAUTIFUL!!!
she honored her mexican heritage with dia de los muertos bride and groom on the cake and those cards {?} as table numbers. hopefully i'll get photos {from a pro} later.
{ music i grew up with }
my husband victor and i compared notes to what music we were exposed to as kids.... his dad always listened to classical or opera. his mother grateful dead, iggy pop, rolling stones, bowie.
in my house....i knew about johnny cash and merle haggard before god.
after dinner we always sang songs while my dad played the guitar.
victor, his brother + sisters sang in the music circus leading roles a lot of the time plus always played a classical instrument. well... my sister played the violin as a kid, but my dad called it the fiddle {kidding}
johnny cash. my dad sounds a lot like him.
tammy wynette....my favorite as a kid.
patsy cline....my mom's favorite.
the carter family......reminds me of square dancing as a little girl in oklahoma.
{my goodness-i know} victor's family was far more distinguished.

when at the shop i often make a quick corsage or wear flowers in my hair.....so like everyone else right now i LOVE ban.do
{ birthday party planning }
little remy's turning seven soon.....so i thought we'd do a cute woodland type thing you know bunnies + bears. since we did a bird thing last year complete with little bird warblers! ahh, so cute.
i'm not one for commercial party themes, but he begged for a star wars party... so now i have to try my best to pull off a non-cheesy version. wish me luck!

each morning as i'm unlocking the shop door my birds hear me and get excited. they are so sweet and my customers always have to stop and say hello to them.
